‘Sink’ is a film about young love and intolerance set in present-day agricultural Australia. The film reflects the reality of high LGBTQI youth mortality rates that exist within farming communities and the kind of dogmatic ideals surrounding sexuality that still pervade the psyche of those Australian families. Cloudy Rhode’s creates a filmic narrative that represents a diverse depiction of love in the Australian landscape. Honest representations of lesbian love and portraits of female experience are intrinsic to young director’s work.
