A leech writhes and thrashes around after being removed from a woman's nose in Vietnam.

Footage captured at a clinic in Yen Bai province on September 7 shows the moment the leech is yanked out of the patient's nose and deposited onto a paper towel.

According to the filmer, the patient believed she had a cold after several days of pain.

Doctors believe that as the woman is a farmer, she may have come into contact with the leech in the rice paddies.
