In Round Five of the J-League.
When we last caught up with the action in J1, Sanfrecce Hiroshima lost their grip on the summit… the league leaders made to pay for their nil all draw with Jubilo Iwata.
That result allowed Kawasaki Frontale to claim top spot, following their one nil defeat of Nagoya Grampus.
At the end of round four, Frontale edged ahead of Sanfrecce on goal difference, to set up a mouth-watering top two clash in Round 5. We’ll have that match later in the show, but first we kick things off in Kashiwa.
