This recently submitted footage shows a building shaking from the force of Typhoon Mangkhut on September 16 as the storm hit Hong Kong.

Mangkhut was the most severe typhoon to lash the city since records began over 70 years ago, according to authorities.

In the video, hanging clothespins can be seen oscillating as the camera rocked back and forth.

"The camera was shaking a bit due to the floor moving me left and right quite a lot at the time," the filmer said.

According to local media, more than 1,000 sections of road have been blocked off by trees or debris, causing major disruption to transport. Hundreds of buses have been cancelled or rerouted, with ferry services suspended.

Clean-up efforts are currently underway.
