SWEATPANTS IN PUBLIC formed in 2007, in the Seacoast area of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The band consisted of Jerry, the songwriter, on guitar and lead vocals; Jake, his brother, who plays bass; and Jed-I, the drummer, their father.
Over time they cultivated their own style/sound and began to put Jerry'’s songs together as a three piece band. S.P.I.P started to gain their fan-base by playing backyard gigs and parties. They became known as a "party band“ throughout the Seacoast. Their dance-friendly and high-energy shows guaranteed an invite back to nearly every venue they played. This also helped spread their music into Massachusetts and Maine.
In 2016, after looking for a musical change of scenery, Jake and Jerry relocated to Deerfield Beach, Florida.
After meeting many of the locals who had similar interested in music and entertainment, the brothers found Jimmy K, a drummer who specialized in many genres of pop music, especially reggae, rock, and hip-hop.
Since March of 2017, SweatPants in Public has been going strong, making new industry friends and fan connections, and writing/recording new music.
