Police arrested seven men in a series of raids in the Dutch cities of Arnhem and Weert on September 27, saying they strongly suspected them of planning a terrorist attack.Police said they became suspicious of the group after spotting a 34-year-old man who had been convicted in 2017 for attempting to travel to Islamic State-held territory. The man and his associates, aged between 21 and 34, are suspected of preparing to attack a large public event with bombs and AK47s. They intended to car bomb a second location, police said. The men appeared to be in the process of sourcing assault rifles, bombs and hand grenades, and were in possession of five firearms at the time of the arrest, police said.
