A PhD student conducting her research on superb lyrebirds captured an unexpectedly cute video of a lyrebird chick despite its dinosaur-like claws. In this video, the little bird, which was found in Victoria’s Sherbrooke Forest, sits in a researcher’s palms and lets out a squawk with its leathery talons tucked in tight.“The Sherbrooke Lyrebird Study Group and myself banded this little darling today. Look at those glorious dinosaur feet!” student Vicky Austin tweeted.“Welcome to Jurassic Sherbrooke,” one commenter wrote.Austin said the bands on his leg would be used as part of a long-term monitoring program to assist conservation strategies.
