Bangladesh iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is due to fly to Australia by a flight of Singapore Airlines at 12:00am yesterday night (Friday) to meet with hand surgeon Greg Hoy. Even though it was not informed from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Dr. Debashis Roy-chief physician of the BCB- told media revealing the current status of Bangladesh’s key players-Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mushfiqur Rahim that the board sends the all-rounder to Australia on Friday. His going to Australia, not meaning that he has to go under the knife once again. The Australian surgeon will decide whether he perform surgery or not after seeing the intensity and depth of Shakib’s infection. But Shakib said that his finger will be fit, but will not be normal like before. He may be able continuing cricket after treatment of his infectious finger. The mercurial all-rounder sustained injury on his left little finger during the tri-nation series at home yard.

Bangladesh U18 women’s national team confirmed SAFF U18 Women’s Championship 2018 final beating host Bhutan by 4-0 goals in the second semifinal today at the Changlimithang Stadium, Thimpu, Bhutan. The Red and Greens gave no chance to Bhutan and settled the victory against them to reach the final. Bangladesh took the lead in the very second minute as Sanjida Akhter’s 25-yards right-footed shot from the right-top corner of the box found the net deceiving goalie, 1-0. Bangladesh dominated the first half by 2-0 goals as Mishrat Jahan Mousumi placed the ball home from the top of the six yard box in the stopgap time after 45 minutes. Bangladesh will face Nepal in the final match scheduled to be held on Sunday at the same venue. Earlier in the first semifinal, Nepal beat South Asian giant India by 1(2) - 1(1) goals in a penalty shootout after 1-1 in the stipulated and extra time on the same day.
