And so MTV comes full swing and she we see Michael Jackson's Thriller" era start to take hold as well as a host of British new-wave/New Romantic acts like Duran Duran and Culture Club starting to make it big, since Britain had some experience with all the skit shows like TOTP, whereas American acts more often just taped live performances (making less MTV-friendly acts like Christopher Cross singing "I think we're going to make it" all the more ironic). Since music videos are becoming an mainstay, trailers aren't going to be used as much if the song is from a movie.
