Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said negotiations on the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project are still ongoing, but it won't be easy to resolve the issue.
The Prime Minister told reporters that after launching the World Chinese Economic Forum on Friday, adding that the government will continue to negotiate until success was achieved.
Dr Mahathir was asked to comment on the statement by Tun Daim Zainuddin, the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) chairman, that talks on ECRL were still going on with China.
The ECRL project was scrapped recently as it was deemed overpriced and not economically feasible.
