Record numbers of women going to U.S. Congress in January

It's now been confirmed that a record number of women were elected to U.S. Congress in the midterms this week, playing a key role in the Democrats taking back the House,... albeit by a smaller margin than expected.
Despite some races still waiting to be called, as of Friday, local time, more than 100 women had been declared winners in the 435 House races.
That's more then 30 than are serving in the current Congress.
Almost all the newcomers are Democrats.
The number of female Republicans will drop when the new Congress is seated in January, potentially dropping to 13.
