An arrangement by Leopold Godowsky of Chopin's Etude, Op. 25 No. 12 in C minor for the left hand. The rapid double notes and chords present a formidable challenge for the single hand, as they cover the whole range of the keyboard. I started learning this piece around five years ago after developing focal dystonia in my right hand. The "Ocean" Etude of Chopin is my favorite of the set (one which I enjoyed practicing), and I was glad to discover this mighty arrangement of it by Godowsky.
There are a couple of passages where I do my own thing: at 1.20 I go up a couple more octaves, and I didn't bother repeating the chord and accompaniment at 2.46! I felt like recording this video in sepia.
The piano is a Yamaha AvantGrand N1, hybrid piano.
