Salisbury Cathedral Choir : Sanctus (Walter Alcock)

The choir of Salisbury Cathedral sing the Sanctus composed by Sir Walter Alcock who was organist at Salisbury for 30 years. It was for George V's coronation that he composed his setting of the Sanctus from the Office of Holy Communion.

The video is taken from the splendid DVD "The Choristers of Salisbury Cathedral" which gives a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the youngsters in the choir. It takes the viewer through the Cathedral and choir year, features complete performances of two popular anthems and ends with a short performance on the famous Father Willis organ by the cathedral's organist Daniel Cook.
