Amazon Is Working Towards Cashier-less Stores

Amazon is working towards creating cashierless Amazon Go stores. Business Insider reports the technology involves tracking what items customers take, and then charging them for the items without customers needing to wait in line. Now, the company is reportedly looking to expand the technology to larger stores, and is currently testing it in a large space in Seattle. Nike also recently debuted what it calls "instant purchase" technology in its new flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York.
