Thalambralu is a ritual in telegu weddings. After the tying of the thali the couple shower each other with rice mixed with turmeric. It denotes the couples desire for happiness enjoyment and contentment. In Hinduism, rice holds great spiritual and ritual significance as it is a staple of the Indian diet. Because of its basic life-sustaining qualities, rice is revered as a potent symbol of auspiciousness, prosperity and fertility and therefore is used extensively in Hindu Wedding rites and rituals. This starts out very seriously and then competition sets in as they try to out do each other in showering more rice on each other. We love capturing such wedding moments and love to laugh along and wish the families all the happiness in the world.
