Delaware Blue Coats rookie Haywood Highsmith did not play Division I basketball, a rarity for modern professionals. Highsmith instead attended Wheeling Jesuit, a Division II school in Wheeling, West Virginia. He averaged 22 points and 12.6 rebounds as a senior to earn attention from pro scouts. Highsmith bypassed opportunities to play overseas, and signed with the Blue Coats in October. The 6-foot-7 22-year old is averaging 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds, and played at the G League Winter Showcase in Las Vegas.
