Eight-Year-Old Guatemalan Dies After Being Detained By U.S. Border Agents

According to Reuters, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said that an eight-year-old Guatemalan migrant boy died shortly after midnight on Tuesday after being detained by U.S. border agents. The CBP said that the boy and his father were in CBP custody on Dec. 24 when a Border Patrol agent noticed the child showing signs of illness. This is the second instance this month of a migrant child dying after being detained by U.S.
