The ZYG 808
The ZYG 808 (Zee Why Gee 8 oh 8) is a Hip-Hop Jazz Percussionist & MC. An un apologetic boom-bap artist who is ready to let you know that he's " not a rapper, but an Emcee," he began flexing his lyrical skills a couple of years ago, making music in the basement with his cousin JJ Nice of the TMK Squad. His name draws from a couple of sources: Z-Y-G is a reference to the Supreme Alphabet and 808 is a reference to the classic drum machine the TR - 808 relating to The ZYG's ability to rhyme and play drums at the same time.

As a percussionist and drummer, he had his first studio session at the age of 7 and headlined the Boston Jazz Fest at age 11. At the age of 13 he became a full member of the Grammy nominated soul-funk-blues band, The GroovaLottos. At age 14 he first appeared on the Soul Poet's Syndicate anti-opioid anthem, FLIPPIN'. Deciding to focus on his solo projects and co-founding Soul Poets Records as a means to provide a beach-head for Hip-Hop and R&B for Liberation Multimedia which is primarily known for jazz, soul and electronic dance music. The ZYG 808's new EP "At The Party" is already making underground waves with the release of his debut single and music video "The Concerto" finding it's way onto mixtapes and playlists around the globe.

Emceeing and drumming is just the tip of this young iceberg. Currently studying the vibraphone and keyboards, his plans include the continuation of making music as well as developing and producing other artists. He also has plans of studying film and video production.
