White House counselor Kellyanne Conway took a jab at Nancy Pelosi over her vacation during the partial government shutdown.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway took a jab at the presumptive incoming House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, who is said to be on a Hawaiian vacation amid the partial government shutdown.
During an interview on "Fox News Sunday," Conway was asked about President Trump's expectations for the week and year to come, and she said, "First, the Democrats have to come back. Nancy Pelosi needs to come back from Hawaii — less hula, more moola for the DHS, Customs and Border Patrol, funding our border security."
She added about the Democrats: "They need to come to the table and do their job. A fully-functioning democracy demands that both parties come together and that the Congress and the executive branch work together."
The U.S. government has been partially shut down for about a week amid the absence of a spending bill that addresses the border wall funding demanded by President Trump.
The president has posted numerous tweets on the shutdown in the past days.
"I am in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come on over and make a deal on Border Security," he wrote Sunday. "From what I hear, they are spending so much time on Presidential Harassment that they have little time left for things like stopping crime and our military!"
