Loot of 'Agastheeswar Temple' land in the heart of Chennai | NewsX Save Indian Temple

We at newsx have launched a 50 day mega campaign unearthing the pillage, loot and plunder our temples are facing. We started the campaign on Friday with Agastheeswarar Prasanna Venkatesa temple from Chennai, a temple where all of 2 acres is left of the 14 acres it held originally. This was followed by an investigative analysis of Sri Venugopala Swamy temple located near Hyderabad in telangana which has been under constant threat of real estate vultures who are trying to encroach and grab the temple land...the problem doesn't end here. These temples which form a crucial part of the hindu cultural heritage have been continuously looted and rampaged. This is a result of corruption, apathy and a nexus between temple Commissioners, Babus and trustees. The condition of these temples remains deplorable- the structures are dilapidated and many statues have been stolen.
