to pay $2,864 for
insulin in 2012. By 2016, the cost had
practically doubled to $5,705. The findings were released
in a report from the Health
Care Cost Institute (HCCI). Jeannie Biniek, HCCI, via NBC News So far this year, Novo Nordisk and
French drugmaker, Sanofi, have
raised insulin prices by close to 5%. More than one million
Americans live with
Type 1 diabetes. The United States has the
highest prescription drug
prices in the world.
