Highly acclaimed film Lipstick Under My Burkha is gaining all the headlines for its content and plot. The film which has been refused by the Central Board of Film Certification is now hoping to get a nod from the Film Appellate Tribunal. Moreover, CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani has also been criticized for his views on the film. According to Pahlaj Nihalani, Lipstick Under My Burkha was denied certification because, 'The story is lady oriented, their fantasy about life. There are continuous sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society, hence film refused under guidelines.'
Konkona Sen Sharma who is confident in her views replied to the certification issue and expressed, 'I am grateful to everybody for supporting 'Lipstick'. The film will go to the Tribunal and let's hope they give us the certificate and we can move on.'
