Cat Lake Evokes Jordan's Principle
Cat Lake First Nation is facing a serious crisis. 87 of the 120 homes on the remote Northwestern Ontario First Nation community in Canada have mold problems so severe it is recommended they be demolished. Children and Elders in Cat Lake are suffering respiratory ailments and rashes as a result of living in the mould infested homes. Indignenous Services Minister Seamus O'Regan will be meeting with the Chief of Cat Lake and with AFN National Chief Perry Bellegarde to work toward solid solutions.
