Video of a wild boar taking a swim in Hong Kong waters has resurfaced online, as being widely shared as the city debates what to do about the indigenous species’ rapidly rising population. Rob Partridge shot the footage in October 2017 while on an afternoon sailing trip near Repulse Bay on the south side of Hong Kong Island. While it was unclear where the boar was headed, many people have commented on its swimming speed – and that the video illustrates how the animals may be expanding their range among the territory’s islands.
