Akhilesh Yadav supports Third front
India News: Close on the heels of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's elevation in the Bharatiya Janata Party triggering fissures in the National Democratic Alliance and marking the commencement of efforts to form an alternative political front, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav too jumped on the bandwagon on Thursday by stating that his party would do everything possible to unite the likeminded secular parties to form a Third Front.
"My father (SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav) is very much interested in the Third Front. The SP will play a very active role in uniting the like-minded secular forces," said Akhilesh Yadav.
