India, China to form border management mechanism

On the 2nd and final day of round 15 of India and China border talks, both sides have made positive noises with Chinese leader Dai Bingguo saying the two sides have "scaled much height" and "produced some results" on the framework of settlement of the issue. With the special representatives on either side terming the talks as positive, there is a likelihood of an agreement on setting up joint border management mechanism. An agreement may be signed at the end of the two-day talk. The mechanism may have officials of foreign and defence ministries of both sides. The mechanism is also expected to comprise representatives of armed forces.
