Ghazal legend Mehdi Hassan passes away - NewsX

Notable ghazal writer Mehdi Hassan died today. Born in 1927, Mehdi Hasan started performing at a young age and subsequently gained fame because of his talent and the alluring quality of his ghazals. His song "Sarhadein", released in 2010 was his last addition to the musical sphere. He had since then been unwell until he finally succumbed on 13th June 2012.
