The CBI chief will put forward the agency's case on the CBI-Lokpal working relationship before the select committee of the Rajya Sabha today. Sources say that following detailed discussions with officials, the director will raise the issue of 'more autonomy and independence' for the CBI. Reports say a majority of the officials of the agency are against the splitting of the CBI and attaching its anti-corruption wing with the Lokpal. Amar Pratap Singh is expected to put up a case that the CBI remain the only PREMIER agency against corruption.
