India is all set to put in office its 14th President, with the results of the 19th July presidential polls expected today. Last week marked the end of a bitter presidential race, with UPA's Pranab Mukherjee and BJP backed Purno Sangma exchanging stinging verbal barbs throughout the campaign. Initial reports indicate that arithmetic of the electoral constituency electing the next president is loaded in the former FM, Pranab Mukherjee's favour, with Sangma unable to make significant inroads in the Cong led ruling coalition at the centre. Sangma's hopes were all but dashed when UPA's truant ally, Mamata Banerjee led TMC also announced its support to Pranab Mukherjee's candidature.
