Security for Narendra Modi's oath taking to be tighter

An unprecedented three-tier security arrangement that is tighter than what is usually made for the annual Republic Day parade has been made for Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony as the 15th Prime Minister of India on Monday, sources familiar with the matter said.

As many as 3,000-4,000 people are expected for the ceremony organised at the forecourts of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The Army and Air Force are also providing security, but most of the arrangements are being overseen by Delhi Police, along with paramilitary forces, sources said. Anti-aircraft guns are being positioned in strategic locations to take care of any threat.
