The Budget Session of Parliament will begin from July 7 and proceed till August 14. The Railway Budget will be presented on the second day of the Budget Session.
According to sources, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be presenting his maiden budget on July 10.
The dates for the Budget Session were finalised in a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The vote-on-account budget approved by the previous Parliament ends on July 31 and a new budget has to be in place before that date.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu had earlier told reporters that plans are afoot to start the Budget Session in the second week of July.

Naidu had also said that the election of Deputy Speaker would take place during the Budget Session.

Ordinances promulgated recently in the wake of division of Andhra Pradesh and the one facilitating the appointment of former TRAI chief Nripendra Misra as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister will be taken up during the Budget Session.
