JPC stalemate lingers as Chacko rejects BJP demand on PM - NewsX

The cold war between Congress and BJP over summoning Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram to the JPC probing the 2G spectrum scam has taken a twist. JPC chairman P Chacko's categorical refusal in summoning both the PM and the FM, has put the BJP on the back foot. NewsX has exclusive information that Chacko has written a two-page letter to BJP senior leader Yashwant Sinha ruling out any scope in summoning both the PM and FM. The two page letter had cited parliamentary rules 59 (1) and 99(1) behind the categorical refusal.
