Just as it was limping back to normalcy in the wake of cyclone Nilam, Andhra Pradesh is now reeling under the effect of the northeast monsoon. 24 people have died in Andhra Pradesh in the last 4 days and more that 67 thousand people have been evacuated to government shelters as many parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh are flooded after heavy rains. Several low-lying places are inundated, around 150 villages are completely cut off and crops spread over 2.5 lakh hectares are under water.
