The cabinet meeting comes against the backdrop of the Irish Church also breaking its silence on the controversy. Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin called Savita's death a terrible disaster, even as global outrage mounted over the tragedy. Thirty-one-year-old Savita Halappanavaer died in a Irish Hospital last month after doctors refused to terminate her pregnancy despite telling her that she was miscarrying. Savita died of blood poisoning after spending three days in terrible pain and agony.
