As the higher echelons of the judiciary were hit by the third sexual harassment scandal in six months, with a high court judge being accused by a subordinate court judge this time, Chief Justice of India R.M. Lodha said on Monday that the issue was "very serious" and would be "dealt with appropriately".
Reacting to the complaint by a lower court judge in Gwalior against a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Lodha said: "All versions will have to be taken into account. I will seek a report from the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court and take action accordingly. I will do my best for the institution."
The latest scandal came close on the heels of allegations of sexual harassment levelled by interns against former Supreme
court.
