Party has taken Beni's statement seriously: Congress

While the UPA is trying to manage its crisis with the DMK , the Congress party's own Union minister Beni Prasad said something to upset the Samajwadi Party chief. SP members had then insisted on the resignation of Beni Prasad Verma for accusing Mulayam Singh Yadav of supporting terrorists. SP threatened withdrawal of support if Verma was not sacked and that sent Congress managers scurrying into an overdrive to win back the ally.
