WB: Police, protestors clash over chit-fund scam

NewsX: Fresh clashes between police and protestors rocked Kolkata again. The City of Joy neared shut down as police wielding lathis waded into crowds protesting the govt's inaction in the chit fund scam. The latest clash took place at College Street where Democratic Students Organisation party workers were protesting against chit funds in Bengal. Ironically the students were also complaining about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Scores of protestors and one policemen were injured in the clash. Trouble started when protestors headed towards Lal Bazaar area as part of a law violation programme.
