Situation tensed in Hamirpur after suicide of girl student

A 17-year-old girl in Biwar area of Hamirpur district set herself on fire on Saturday night after she failed to protect herself from the molesters, who subjected her to harassment her every day on her way to coaching classes.
Later, while the villagers were protesting in front of a local police station along with the victim's body, the police opened fire and lathi charged, killing a man identified as Mohit Pandey and injuring over half a dozen of people.
