Terrorists arrived according to the K2 plan of Pakistan

A coordinated terror attack at Dinanagar in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, by suspected Pakistan-based jihadi elements, has

sent Indian security agencies on a new track — to read why Punjab was attacked in a manner reminiscent of the 1980s or early

1990s.
One of the initial assessments is two-pronged. Either the terrorists lost their way in the riverine segment along the Indo-

Pak border and Punjab was not the original target or was the attack a revival of the 1980s ‘K2’ plan of Pakistani spy agency,

the ISI.
The ‘K2’ plan envisaged simultaneous attacks to propagate terror for the ‘cause’ of Kashmir and ‘Khalistan’.
