NewsX: Extradition of Abu Salem to India is valid
NewsX: No relief on the cards for gangster Abu Salem the Supreme Court today dismissed his plea to quash the trial against him in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
Salem's plea had come in the wake of Portugal top court's decision to terminate his extradition to India citing violation of extradition rules. The apex court held that the verdict of Portugal's constitutional court is not binding on us and that Salem's extradition is still valid in the eyes of law.
The apex court has allowed CBI to drop additional charges slapped on Salem under TADA and Explosives substances act.
