The Bharatiya Janata Party, with help from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, on Thursday managed to cajole veteran LK Advani into contesting from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, but it has yet to mollify another senior leader Jaswant Singh.
Singh, a sitting Lok Sabha MP from Darjeeling in West Bengal, this time wants to contest the elections from Barmer in Rajasthan. However, the party seems to be keen on fielding Col Sonaram, an ex-Congress legislator from the region.
