DGCA relates norms for pilots found drunk while flying

Pilots and cabin crew will have to undergo pre-flight breathalyser test before all charter or non scheduled flights. Earlier the norms allowed tests to be carried out for only 60% of the non scheduled flights.

Also punishment for reporting drunk on duty has been made stringent and a pilot's licence will be cancelled for third offence. Foreign pilots will lose the authorisation or permit to fly in India for the first offence. The DGCA issues foreign pilots a permit to work in India on the basis of their licence.
