BJP: waiting for consensus on the Vidarbha issue

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday alleged that the BJP had "double standards" on the issue of creation of a separate Vidarbha state and said he would not allow even an inch to be cut off from Maharashtra.

Addressing an election rally in Bhosari constituency, Uddhav said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is saying that he will not allow bifurcation of the state. But on the other hand state BJP president Devendra Fadnavis is saying that Modi was referring to Mumbai and the BJP will make Vidarbha a separate state."

"We have a blood relation with Vidarbha. We will not break this relation. The Sena will fight for a united Maharashtra. The demand of separate Vidarbha will not be entertained," he said.
