#EndGameSrinivasan: Srinivasan accuses club of legends

N. Srinivasan, sidelined president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday told the Supreme Court that he had always stayed away from the inquiry against his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, who was arrested by the Mumbai Police for betting. On 8 December, justices T.S. Thakur and F.M.I. Kalifulla will resume hearing arguments by the former head of BCCI. The court said that it remained to be “examined” whether there was any conflict of interest regarding Srinivasan’s role as the then BCCI president and his stake in Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings, through his company India Cements Ltd. Srinivasan’s lawyer Kapil Sibal said there was no case of conflict of interest. The court is hearing a case on betting and spot-fixing in the sixth edition of the Twenty20 cricketing event Indian Premier League. A court-appointed committee headed by former judge Mukul Mudgal had submitted a 35-page report on 3 November. The report, while not finding anything against Srinivasan, had found Meiyappan guilty of betting.
