Saradha Scam: Home Ministry’s top bureaucrat, Anil Goswami summoned by PMO
In a big embarrassment for the Home Ministry, the top bureaucrat Anil Goswami has been summoned by the Prime Minister Office (PMO) on Wednesday over media reports suggesting he tried to influence and stop the arrest of former Union minister Matang Sinh in the multi-crore Saradha chit-fund scam.
Matan Singh who was earlier questioned by the Enforcement Directorate was arrested in links with the Saradha Realty case on January 31 on charges of criminal conspiracy and cheating. While he was being quizzed, Sinh told media, “Getting into a business deal is not a crime.”
