1984 anti-Sikh riots: Relief for Tytler as CBI says no fresh FIR filed against him

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday told a Delhi court that no fresh offence has been registered till now for money laundering and tampering of witnesses till now against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in 1984 Sikh riots case. During the hearing, senior advocate HS Phoolka, representing the riots victims, said he is willing to file protest petition, to which the court agreed. The court will now re-assemble on July 30 for the next hearing. While hearing arguments into the CBI's closure report, the court had directed the investigating agency to file a reply on the allegations against Tytler that he tried to influence a witnesses in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
