Tamil folk artist detained for Anti-Government song

A Tamil folk artist has been detained by the chennai police for reportedly criticising the AIADMK government. Kovan, a member of MKIK- a performance group based in Trichy - was picked by the chennai police at 2am on Friday. He had recently released a song claiming the whole of Tamil Nadu is under the influence of alcohol and that "Poes" - where chief minister Jayalalithaa resides - is rejoicing.
