New York City opened up a massive new public space, known as "The Vessel" yesterday (March 15), offering an experience of culture, art, and commerce all in one place.
Footage from the event shows the opening ceremony, speeches, ribbon cutting, and a first view inside the Vessel, a huge monument, reportedly costing $25 billion, in the centre of New York's newest neighbourhood.
Celebrities attending the event included journalist Anderson Cooper, US Senator Chuck Schumer and Big Bird from Sesame Street.
