Through organic verification and fair trade partnerships with farm co-ops in India, Alterra Pure is committed to environmental and social sustainability by introducing farm to fabric transparency for the bedding industry.
Our bed sheets and home linens are made with certified organic cotton that is procured from a co-op in India, manufactured in an eco-friendly, LEED-certified factory, and packaged in recycled and upcycled materials.
Growing organic cotton requires an extreme amount of water, but the farms we work with recycle, treat, and reuse the resource. All water used for our fabric is recovered through the production process, then recycled and reused. No waste water ever leaves the factory.
We work in a Fair Trade way with villages, farms and facilities, as well as fund projects that will benefit the villages that grow the organic cotton. The people who buy our products can see how their purchase has helped with a specific project.
The end result is our finishing products exceed global standards for being biodegradable and sustainable.
The fiber for our organic sheets contains no toxic chemicals, and is non-GMO, and pesticide free.
