Los Angeles Intersection to Be Named in Honor of Nipsey Hussle L.A. City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson announced the Crenshaw and Slauson intersection will be named Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom Square. The rapper was recently gunned down and killed outside of his L.A. clothing store, Marathon. A petition to name the intersection in Hussle’s honor gained nearly 500,000 signatures. Marqueece Harris-Dawson, via statement Harris-Dawson referred to the Grammy-nominated artist as “a rock helping to build an empire.” Marqueece Harris-Dawson, via statement Hussle made multiple investments in south L.A. through his work on Destination Crenshaw, his Marathon Clothing Store, Vector90 and more. His funeral will be held on April 11.
